The History of Benediction

Benediction was originally released in 2013, at the very beginning of Black Label Trading Co.’s launch. From the start, it was created as a small-batch cigar with a focus on balance, body, and character —
a blend that reflected BLTC’s early vision and style.

In 2021, Benediction returned as a Smokers Abbey exclusive, available only at the Austin, Memphis, and Nashville locations. The release marked a continuation of the long-standing relationship between Smokers Abbey and Black Label Trading Co., built over years of mutual support and shared values.

For this release, new artwork was created to reflect the aesthetics of the Smokers Abbey shops while staying true to BLTC’s design language. The blend itself remained faithful to the original in body, strength, and wrapper, while introducing additional spice and complexity to further refine the experience.

Benediction has always been about consistency, depth, and intention — a cigar designed not to chase trends, but to be returned to. The latest release continues that tradition, now including a new Toro vitola alongside the original sizes.
