BLTC Benediction Cigar Dinner

A blending session with James and Angela Brown. Friday, October 9, at Smokers Abbey Austin.

The BLTC Benediction cigar dinner brings James and Angela Brown of Black Label Trading Company to Smokers Abbey Austin on Friday, October 9. We are hosting 20 guests for one long evening at the table. Together, we will eat, taste, and learn how a cigar comes together.

Benediction is our Smokers Abbey exclusive. James first released it in 2013, and he reimagined it for our shops. It pairs a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and filler. The result is medium to full, with earthy, peppery, and creamy notes. Our customers voted it Favorite New Core Line in 2021, so this night is a celebration of a cigar this community already loves.

What the evening looks like

The night begins at 6 PM with cocktail hour outside. We will serve cocktails, wine, and appetizers while everyone settles in. Then dinner runs from 7 to 9 PM. Dessert closes the meal, and we will smoke the full Benediction cigar together while we eat it.

Along the way, we will taste the blend itself. Guests will smoke puritos of the Benediction blend as James walks through each component. He will explain how the blend started and how it took shape. Guests can ask questions along the way. James and Angela then stay for a meet and greet and can purchase additional cigars until 10 PM.

The dinner

Dinner will consist of a salad, main coarse cooked onsite complete with sides, and will conclude with dessert. Water, tea or soda will be served with dinner.

Good to know

Dinner is BYOB. We suggest bourbon or red wine, and we provide the glasses. There is no dress code, so come as you are or dress up if you like. Tickets are non-refundable.
