Description

“In the past five years that we’ve produced cigars at NACSA, I’ve worked very closely with Raul Disla in making sure that whatever I blend is something we can produce consistently from a materials and production perspective. Because of this relationship, I’ve had the opportunity to sample, blend, and smoke a huge variety of tobacco and compare and contrast these against Raul’s specific profile and approach to cigar making. Through this process, I’ve come to immensely  respect and admire his learned skill set when it comes to cigar making.
During every blending process I always engage with Raul and pose the simple question “What would you do to make this more to your liking?” While my palette and particular approach wins the day on the final blends… many times I’m left completely astounded with his renditions. A couple years ago, I asked Raul if he would be game for doing “his” take on our existing lines. He agreed, and over the next couple years we’re intending to release renditions of our cigars with Raul’s take on reblending them to his palette and liking. Some blends, like this, is an almost complete remake of my original Desvalido blend. The resulting blend is simpler in leaf variety, bolder in flavor and strength… yet ritualistically smoke-able. The blend reminds of why I started smoking Nicaraguan cigars to begin with.” – Ian Reith, Dapper Cigars owner
