What’s Inside the Habano Sampler

La Galera 1936 Box Pressed Chaveta Jochy Blanco built the 1936 Box Pressed to mark 80 years of his family’s factory, Tabacalera Palma. His father founded it in 1936. A dark Ecuadorian Habano wrapper covers Dominican Criollo 98 binder and a Dominican Piloto Cubano and Criollo 98 filler. The blend took seven years to develop. Furthermore, it’s rated 90 by Cigar Aficionado and made Cigar Snob’s Top 25 twice, in 2017 and 2019.

Casa Carrillo Ascend Saddle Casa Carrillo introduced Ascend in 2026 as an ongoing core line, the brand’s first true Habano blend in company history. An Ecuadorian Habano wrapper leads over Nicaraguan Estelí binder and Nicaraguan filler. Additionally, the blend is built to evolve as you smoke it, with each third revealing something the last one didn’t.

Artista Puro Ambar Corona Radhames Rodriguez built Puro Ambar as a full Dominican puro, wrapper, binder, and filler all grown in Dominican soil. A Dominican Habano wrapper covers Dominican Hybrid Olor binder and a Dominican filler blend, rolled at Tabacalera El Artista. Meanwhile, it’s the mildest cigar in the box, golden raisin and sweet hay carrying the profile instead of pepper or spice.

Rodriguez Series 84 Robusto The Rodriguez Cigar Factory built Series 84 to mark its own founding in 1984. It’s the oldest cigar maker in the Florida Keys. An Ecuadorian Habano wrapper covers Nicaraguan binder and filler aged about two years before rolling. Therefore, it lands medium-bodied, leather and sweet cedar carrying a long, full finish.

Aladino Classic Elegante Justo and Julio Eiroa built the Classic line to be less corojo-forward than the rest of JRE’s portfolio. A Honduran Habano wrapper covers Honduran Corojo binder and a Honduran Corojo and Habano filler. All of it is grown on the family’s own Jamastran Valley farms. In short, this is the lancero in the box, a 7 x 38 built for a slow, unhurried smoke.

BLTC Benediction Toro “We stayed true to the original blend in body, strength, and wrapper, but added a touch more spice and complexity,” said James Brown, creator of Black Label Trading Co. This one is a Smokers Abbey exclusive, hand rolled at Fabrica Oveja Negra. Nicaragua Habano wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, Nicaraguan filler. Consequently, it closes the box on home turf, the only cigar here you can’t find anywhere else.
