Santa Muerte debuted in 2016 as limited release cigar inspired by Mexican celebration The Day Of The Dead.

In 2023, Black Label Trading Company announced Sante Muerte would become part of their core line (regular production) of cigars.

“It was last released in 2018 as a limited release and we have had many requests for its return. We revamped the artwork giving it a white background with added silver details in a white box. It features six filler tobaccos which create a very unique and rich flavor profile. You experience layer upon layer of coffee, malt, spice and cocoa,”-James Brown, creator of Black Label Trading Co. and partner at Fabrica Oveja Negra.
