Dissident Sampler
$60.00
The Dissident cigar sampler is the most complete way to experience what this brand can do.
Dissident started as a bold idea and grew into one of the most respected boutique brands coming out of Fabrica Oveja Negra in EstelÃ, Nicaragua. Furthermore, the lineup covers more ground than almost any other single-brand sampler we’ve built, from a pale Ecuadorian Connecticut to a dark Brazilian wrapper and a rare limited release that doesn’t always make it onto the shelf. Six blends, six experiences, one brand that defies expectations at every turn.

Description
The Dissident cigar sampler puts six of the most distinct blends in the lineup into a single box. Dissident has been made at Fabrica Oveja Negra in EstelÃ, Nicaragua since Ben Holt reimagined the brand in 2019, and furthermore the current owners Joshua and Cynn Coburn have continued to push the brand forward with new blends and new expressions. The result is a portfolio with more range than most brands twice its size. Additionally, every cigar in this sampler was chosen because it shows a different side of what Dissident does best.
Here’s what’s inside.
Dissident Bloc 7 x 42
Ben Holt reimagined the Bloc in 2019 as a full-bodied Ecuadorian Maduro statement with Dominican and Nicaraguan filler, box pressed at Oveja Negra. Furthermore, the Lonsdale format gives the blend a long, slow burn that lets the caramel, cocoa, coffee, and pepper notes develop across a generous smoke. It is, therefore, a great opening statement for the sampler.
Dissident Soapbox Petite Corona
The Soapbox has become one of the most sought after blends in the Dissident catalog, and for good reason. A Brazilian wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder and Nicaraguan filler delivers earth, oak, cream, and a bit of spice in a medium-bodied blend that works equally well for newer smokers and seasoned enthusiasts. Additionally, the Petite Corona format keeps it short and efficient, giving you the full Soapbox profile in a focused package.
Dissident Tirade
Tirade sets out to prove that a dark, rich Maduro profile and an elegant smoking experience are not mutually exclusive. A Mexican San Andrés wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder and Nicaraguan and Dominican filler delivers full-bodied flavor with medium power. In other words, all the darkness of a great maduro without overwhelming the palate.
Dissident Rave Box Pressed
The Rave earned its reputation fast. Rated 92 by Stogiepress and named the #1 Cigar of the Year by El Oso Fumar, it is one of the most decorated cigars in the Dissident lineup. An Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Pennsylvania Broadleaf produces a moderately complex, well-balanced profile with natural sweetness, cream, and a short burst of cinnamon that makes this anything but a standard Connecticut. Additionally, the box press adds structure and slows the burn beautifully.
Dissident Soapbox Toro Gordo
The Toro Gordo format gives the Soapbox blend its fullest expression. Same Brazilian wrapper, same Ecuadorian binder, same Nicaraguan filler — but with a 6.75 x 54 ring gauge that opens up the filler and produces a noticeably creamier, more expansive version of the profile. Therefore, if the Petite Corona is where you start, the Toro Gordo is where you finish.
Dissident Molotov (Limited Release)
The Molotov is Dissident’s first release under current owners Joshua and Cynn Coburn, and it is the rarest cigar in this sampler. Specifically, Cynn Coburn blended this one around an Ecuadorian Rojizo wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and the Estelà and Ometepe regions of Nicaragua. Mild to medium in strength, it is, furthermore, one of the most approachable and unexpected expressions in the entire Dissident portfolio.
