Launched in 2014, Las Calaveras pays a respectful homage to those who have passed on in the previous year. The intent was that Las Calaveras will continue to be seen as a celebration of life and remembrance.

The Las Calaveras EL 2024 is a timeless composition of 100% Nicaraguan tobaccos, all grown on the farms of the Garcia family, completed by a gorgeous Habano (Ecuador) cover leaf. The medium-to-full bodied flavor profile is highlighted by notes of wood, sweet fruit, and baking spices, with a distinct red pepper note discovered on the retrohale.

In an interesting packaging flourish, the bands and labels are adorned with a color known as ‘Mexican Pink.’ The hot pink color is often seen in Mexican culture, and its popularity has been credited to the painter and fashion designer, Ramón Valdiosera, going back to the 1940’s.

Each 24-count box of Las Calaveras is packaged with three rows of eight cigars. The three rows represent life’s cycle of a beginning, middle, and end. In biblical terms, the number ‘8’ signifies new beginnings, and in mathematical terms an ‘8’ laid on its side symbolizes ‘infinity,’ as in eternal life.
